Lauren R

Lauren Ray, Research Commons Librarian

Lauren is responsible for planning, managing and coordinating services in the Research Commons. She received her BA from Bryn Mawr College and MLIS from North Carolina Central University. She's spent the past six years in academic librarianship, working as a reference librarian at Portland State University and Highline Community College and reference intern at Duke University.  Lauren is especially interested in using media and technology to bring the library closer to members of the academic community, and understanding how to better incorporate student-created digital content into the learning and research experience.

Chloe Horning, Assistant Research Commons Librarian

Chloe assists with all aspects of coordinating services and programming in the Research Commons and is the direct supervisor of the Research Commons undergraduate student staff. She received her BA from Smith College and MLIS from the Information School at the University of Washington. Prior to her work in the Research Commons, Chloe lead the overnight team at Odegaard Undergraduate Library.

Dana Bublitz, Graduate Funding Information Service Manager

Dana helps prospective and current University of Washington graduate students learn how to find funding for graduate school, including fellowships; assistantships; scholarships; and grants for research, travel and publication. She is currently a second-year MLIS student at the UW iSchool, and previously earned her BA in Classics and Religion at Reed College, and an MLitt in Mediaeval Studies from the University of St Andrews. Outside of helping students find funding for their education, Dana is interested in digital scholarship and the ways in which digital projects and resources can foster collaboration between students and scholars at all levels.


Sofia Leung, Graduate Student Specialist

Sofia is concurrently pursuing her Master's in Library and Information Science and Public Administration at UW. She has a BA in English from Barnard College, and currently works in the UW Research Commons as a Graduate Student Specialist with a focus on programming. Her interests include library management, administration, and advocacy, as well as diversity in librarianship.

Katharine Macy, Graduate Student Specialist

Katharine is taking the lead in developing and implementing assessment for the Research Commons. She is provides support in citation management, space design, and research displays. Katharine comes with over 10 years experience in analysis in private industry. She has also earned her MBA from the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, and is currently enrolled in the University of Washington's MLIS program.
