General Funding Resources Workshop - August 2011
This workshop will overview the different types of funding available to UW graduate students, what databases, web resources, print materials, and support services are available at the UW, and discuss the timeline for applying for fellowships and grants. Late Spring and early summer are the times to prepare for submitting applications that will be due in the Fall quarter to fund the 2012-13 academic year. Be aware that some fellowship application deadlines are before the UW begins its Fall quarter.
PhD Funding Resources Workshop - August 2011
This workshop is aimed at Ph.D. students who are preparing to undertake dissertation research or who are in the writing phase. It will also address some funding options and resources available for Ph.D. candidates who will be in their final year and thinking about postdoctoral funding.
School of Social Work - New Student Funding - April 2011
This workshop will provide an overview of graduate funding, including different types of funding available, the timeline for applying for funding, and resources available to search for fellowships, awards, and grants. Funding resources for women, minorities, non-traditional students, and other student populations will be covered as well as introductions to funding for travel and foreign language study. Participants will also learn some basics about how to navigate through various databases, including Community of Science.
Library and Information Science Workshop - April 2011
This workshop will feature a brief introduction to types of graduate funding and resources for LIS students. The MLIS Academic Advisor will also be there to answer specific funding questions. The second half of the workshop will cover locating grants to support projects in the library and information science fields and will feature a guest experienced in grant writing for library projects.
